Easter cookies to make with the kids
These recipes are a great way to get your kids involved in the kitchen and create some delicious Easter treats.
Choc-Chip Hot Cross Cookies
These classic cookies get an Easter makeover with a melted white chocolate cross on top.
Ingredients:
- 150g Western Star Chef’s Choice unsalted butter, melted
- 200g brown sugar
- 70g caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla paste
- 280g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 100g white chocolate chips, melted
Vanilla Easter Biscuits
These simple and delicious cookies are perfect for the kids to help make.
You’ll need:
- 125g Western Star Chef’s Choice butter, room temperature
- 125g cup caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250g cups plain flour
- Pinch of salt
Additional tips:
- There’s no limit to the decorating possibilities. Try crushed Easter eggs, edible glitter, or freeze-dried berries.
- Try experimenting with different shaped cutters such as stars, hearts or Easter carrots.
- For a different look and flavour, try swapping out the coloured white chocolate for milk or dark chocolate.
